The Social Enterprise Board

This course is for directors and aspiring directors, governors and trustees who are responsible for, and contribute to the direction of their organizations. Its purpose is to ensure that delegates are able to make an effective contribution to the work of their boards by considering:

  • How charity and social enterprise boards are structured, what they do how they work.
  • Roles and relationships in the room.
  • Board process and effectiveness.

Course Objectives

At the end of this course delegates will have;

  • Knowledge of the law and government of charities and social enterprise
  • A clear understanding of roles and relationships at the board and their part in them
  • A clear understanding of the work of the board and what and how to contribute to it
  • The basis of a review of the process of the board and its effectiveness
